Sequined Kaftans and Memphis Mae

My recent collaboration with Memphis Mae was an experiment for both of us, it was inspired by an era that we are both not usually working with. Yves Saint Laurent was responsible for making the Kaftan a popular fashion silhouette in the 60’s and the late 60’s through to the 70’s saw it become known as the Hostess dress. Elizabeth Taylor made it iconic, she even got married in a one when she tied the knot for the second time to Richard Burton. Memphis channeled both her eccentric grandmother and aunt for the original concept and the costume was designed and made by Georgia Moon.

I love the result and look forward to future collaborations with this foxy minx!
